Winged Foot GC, Mamaroneck, NY

September 17 - 20

2020 marks the sixth time the USGA has held the U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club. Winged Foot features two courses (East and West) designed by famed golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast.

Winged Foot is widely considered one of the most challenging courses in the game. At the 1974 U.S. Open--the third time The Open was held at Winged Foot--the conditions were so difficult that famed sportswriter Dick Schaap penned a book titled “Massacre at Winged Foot.” Golf legend Hale Irwin ended up winning but shot a 287, seven over par. The last U.S. Open at Winged Foot took place in 2006 with Geoff Ogilvy winning with a 285, five over par.

  • The Pound Ridge Golf Club has taken its place in the pantheon of great metropolitan golf courses. The signature wit of Pete Dye’s designs, his enduring challenge for golfers to bring their best game and his sometimes maddening, more often inspiring, mathematical genius make Pound Ridge one of his most memorable courses. Pound Ridge Golf Club is a unique and thoroughly modern design in an area previously known for its traditional golf courses. A full bentgrass facility, it is hewn from 172 acres of magnificent cliffs, streams and wooded hills in Westchester County. Dramatic rock formations have been left onsite, creating one of the most visually stunning settings for golf in the U.S.
